Charles Vieth is a Managing Director of Fiduciary Plan Advisors at Hightower. Charlie has been in the retirement plan business for 20 of his more than 30 years in the financial services industry.
Prior to Hightower, Charlie was the co-founder of Act2 Retirement Consulting, where he led the firm’s ERISA fiduciary practice and consulting engagements for its financial services industry clients.
Previously, Charlie was President and Director of T. Rowe Price’s Retirement Plan Services, where he was responsible for the firm’s full service and investment-only retirement plan business activities, including sales and marketing, plan sponsor and participant servicing, operations, technology, and communications. Charlie pioneered the development and introduction of fully automated solutions for retirement plan participants that maximized participation, increased deferral rates and improved asset allocation. Under his leadership, T. Rowe Price became a top-ranked service provider, and he led the team that grew the business from $4 billion to $100 billion in assets under administration.
Charlie has served as President of Spark Institute, National Defined Contribution Council and Mutual Fund Education Association. He has also been active with the Investment Company Institute (ICI), serving on its Retirement Plan, Marketing Policy and Research Committees.
Charlie received his Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton Graduate School. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Plan Sponsor Magazine, CNBC, NPR and the Dianne Rehm Show.
